On March 19, the 2026 China Open Swimming Championships & National Spring Swimming Championships officially kicked off at the Shenzhen Universiade Sports Center.In the women's 50-meter backstroke final held on the first day of the event, Wan Letian,a student from the 2022 cohort majoring in Sports Training at JXNU's School of Physical Education, clinched the gold medal with a time of 27.42 seconds, outperforming world-class backstroke swimmers.


The final was the highlight of the event's opening day. As soon as the starting gun fired, Wan Letian seized the initiative with a top-notch starting reaction. In the decisive final 5 meters, she withstood the pressure, maintained her lead, and touched the wall first to claim victory.

It is reported that this event marks the first high-level international swimming competition held in China in the form of an open championship. It innovatively adopted a dual-competition integration model, bringing together nearly 500 athletes from 31 domestic teams and 9 countries and regions.
