From March 12 to 15, the 15th National Advanced Forum for Deans/Heads of College English Departments, jointly hosted by Shanghai International Studies University and JXNU, was held in Nanchang. Meng Zhongjie, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of Shanghai International Studies University, and Wang Yang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of JXNU, attended the forum and delivered speeches. Over 1,000 delegates from universities across the country participated in the forum.
Themed New Mission, New Strategy, New Wisdom, the forum featured in-depth discussions by more than 60 experts in keynote speeches, parallel forums, and sub-forums, focusing on core issues such as AI-empowered education, college English education reform, and the cultivation of compound and international talents.
During the forum, the sub-forum on Foreign Language Discipline Construction and Smart Teaching Reform was held at the School of Foreign Languages of JXNU. Professor Xie Zhilong and Professor Hu Xinjian from the School of Foreign Languages presented speeches titled Mission-Driven, Specialty Cultivation and Exploration of AI-Assisted Personalized College English Teaching under a Categorized and Graded Model, respectively, introducing the distinctive features, development paths, and achievements of JXNU's foreign language discipline, as well as the practical outcomes of leveraging AI technology to empower teaching reform.
