On the afternoon of Jan.7th, 73 international students majoring in Chinese from our university participated in a practical learning session at several new media companies. The visits to firms including Youge Media, Qiande Culture, Shike Interactive, Leyou Times, and Kexiaole Media offered the students an immersive experience into the complete workflow of China's digital marketing industry.
Their first stop was the entertainment livestreaming base of Leyou Times. There, students observed real-time entertainment broadcasts up close and witnessed live demonstrations of data monitoring and interaction management at the operations console, gaining a clear understanding of the industry's operational process.
At the Kexiaole local lifestyle space in Jiulong Lake, the group toured livestreaming studios and short video editing rooms. They delved into content creation areas to learn about the end-to-end production model, from initial concept development to final video output.
The visit to a short drama filming base in the Ganjiang New Area proved particularly engaging. Students explored various thematic soundstages and even stepped in for cameo roles, satisfying their acting curiosities. They then received a systematic overview of the short drama production pipeline—from shooting and costume/prop coordination to post-production—experiencing firsthand the industry's short, fast-paced model.
The Douyin Academy in Ganjiang New Area opened its integrated theory + practice classrooms for the tour. Students attended two specialized lectures: New Media Projects in Entertainment and Group Livestreaming and E-commerce Trends, Application Scenarios, and Market Opportunities on Douyin/TikTok, which further broadened their perspective on industry developments.
This activity not only allowed the participating international students to see both the front and back ends of digital marketing but also helped them sense the unprecedented opportunities brought by China's accelerating economic transformation and upgrading for countries around the world.
